A classically trained secretary, I have been involved in office life for over 30 years. Working at Director and CEO level for companies around the UK and London, both as a PA and as an Office Manager, my broad experience covers many different working environments including merchant banking, marketing consultants, solicitors, chartered and building surveyors, architects, loss adjusters, insurance brokers, manufacturing and charities.
During my working life I have handled tasks as varied as setting up a new department headed by one of the Directors of a merchant bank; averting possible strike action by empathetic negotiation with a union representative at a manufacturing company; planning two office moves and refurbishment; and training staff in the use of new equipment and software. In between, I have excelled at the more traditional skills of diary management, dealing with clients and staff, planning events, and typing anything from legal documents and survey reports, to long reports with graphics to be bound and sent out.

Born in London of Scottish parentage, I spent my early years in France before returning to the UK with my family in the early 70s. I moved to rural Mid Wales in 1993, where I live contentedly on the side of a hill with my shepherd husband, a motley crew of working sheepdogs, two cats, and a multitude of chickens. I enjoy working in the community and have been a Samaritan, Chairman of the Trustees of a Welsh Women’s Aid Group, and a Role Model for the Welsh Dynamo Project.
